Director of Beverage

Are you a passionate and knowledgeable beverage professional with a flair for innovation and a commitment to excellence? The Congressional Country Club is seeking a Director of Beverage to lead our beverage operations and elevate our wine and cocktail programs to new heights. This full-time position comes with competitive pay, generous incentives, and career advancement opportunities.

What will be expected of you :

Curate an exceptional wine and beverage program that enhances the overall member experience.
Design and implement innovative cocktail menus while maintaining consistency with club standards.
Elevate wine culture and knowledge among hospitality team members through training and mentoring.
Collaborate with F&B managers, banquet and catering managers, and the purchasing team to ensure seamless operations for events.
Oversee bar operations, including compliance with cleanliness and safety standards.
Conduct monthly inventory checks and assist with purchasing and receiving wine, liquor, and beer.
Lead and support multiple events, wine dinners, and tastings throughout the year.
Actively build and maintain strong relationships with club members.
Ensure all beverage-related areas, including bars, wine cellars, and storage, are organized and compliant with regulations.
Maintain regular, reliable attendance, with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Other projects and duties as assigned by the Food and Beverage Director.

How we determine your qualifications :

Associate or bachelor's degree in hospitality or business (preferred, not required).

Certification as a Sommelier, CSW, or WSET Level 1 or 2 is preferred.

Experience working in fine dining with a thorough understanding of luxury hospitality industry standards.

Impeccable customer service skills and the ability to evaluate and enhance member satisfaction.

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with Jonas POS and Timekeeper software (training available).

Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift to 20 pounds as required.

Relevant training certifications such as TABC and Food Handlers are required.

Availability for nights, weekends, holidays, and club events.

Supervisory Responsibilities :

Indirectly supervises team members and ensures adherence to club policies and standards.

Provides guidance, feedback, and support to enhance team performance and member satisfaction.
