What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Attorney position at Connell Foley LLP?
Connell Foley LLP is seeking a Litigation Associate with four (4) to seven (7) years of experience to join our New York team. The associate will be involved in all aspects of case handling from pre-suit investigation through trial and appeals in matters New York Labor Law, construction litigation and premises liability matters.
Candidates must be able to work independently and have experience preparing pleadings and discovery; taking and defending depositions; drafting and arguing motions; identifying proper strategy for case handling; working with experts; and communicating with clients. Trial and appellate experience is a plus.
The ideal candidate should have experience in the following areas:
- NY Labor Law;
- Construction Litigation;
- Premises Liability.
The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:
- JD from an ABA accredited law school with excellent academic credentials;
- Ability and desire to learn and embrace new skills and best practices as the position and substantive area evolves;
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
- Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within a team;
- Ability to develop new relationships and foster teamwork at all levels;
- Ability to manage confidential information and sensitive situations with tact and discretion;
- Excellent interpersonal skills, problem solving and oral and written communication skills.
New York admission is required. New Jersey admission is a plus.
Compensation $130,000-140,000, based on experience.
