What are the responsibilities and job description for the Auxiliary Plant Operator position at Consolidated Asset Management Services Texas, LLC?
The Auxiliary Plant Operator (APO) is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all Plant equipment under their control in accordance with written plant procedures and under the direction of the Shift Supervisor or Operations Manager.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Owners representatives and be responsible for establishing plant culture and driving business practices to meet the owner’s strategic objectives as well as establishing and maintaining good relationship with customers as well as the community.
The Temple Power Facility consist of (2) 766MW combined cycle power blocks, each with (2) Siemens SGT6-5000F gas turbines, (1) Siemens SST6-5000 Steam Turbine; and (3) Siemens Generators, including all associated gas and electrical interconnection systems and facilities and other associated equipment, systems, and structures; water treatment, cooling, supply, and discharge systems; plant auxiliary and support facilities. Each plant is interconnected to Oncor Electric Delivery Company at 345 kV and sells power into the ERCOT market.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees the safe, efficient, reliable, and environmentally sound operation of plant equipment.
- Properly operate plant auxiliary equipment and systems during normal and emergency operations.
- Performs routine preventative maintenance to keep the facility operational.
- Generates and reviews Work Requests for execution of equipment repair.
- Takes direction from the Shift Supervisor or the Site Management.
- Operates various computer systems (DCS/PLC) to receive, analyze, comprehend, and input data.
- Assists in on-the-job training of other Operators.
- Responsible for maintaining boiler chemistry.
- Properly take readings and complete plant’s daily operator logs
- Monitors and trouble shoots process equipment in the field.
- Assists in development, review, and revision of plant operating procedures.
- Performs housekeeping daily around the facility.
- Actively participate in established safety program
- Conserves production resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Monitor off-loading Ammonia and other bulk chemicals at the site.
- Assist with improved quality and efficiencies in the Production Department.
- Understand and execute the equipment clearance and tagging procedure.
- Communicate information clearly, both orally and written
- Troubleshoot plant equipment to resolve operational problems.
- Generate Work Requests for execution of equipment repair.
- Monitor and record data available using various instruments, recording charts, annunciator systems and other monitoring devices onto shift logs as directed by plant operational procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
