JOB TITLE: CLINICAL NURSE
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: CLINICAL NURSE MANAGER
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Cooperative work attitude toward employees, management,
patients, visitors, and physicians
2. Ability to make logical decisions and solve problems
3. Ability to perform any nursing duty asked.
4. Have extensive knowledge of nursing techniques.
5. Communicate clearly and proficiently.
6. Pass security check.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Active license within the state of South Carolina
- CPR certification
- Strong ethical and moral character references
The clinical nurse acts as a liaison between the patient and the physician. They are also expected to assist the physician and perform any medical task asked of them.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
I. Communication
A. Communicates effectively and professionally with patients,
visitors, physicians, co-workers, and hospital personnel
B. Documents completely and accurately
- Interacts with others in a positive, respectful, and
considerate manner
- Conducts themself as a positive role model and team member
- Respects patient’s rights to privacy, dignity, and
confidentiality
II. Duties
- Discuss with patients their lab/x-ray results and provide
necessary instructions under the direction of their physician
- Review charts daily for next-day appointments for
completion
- Schedule procedures, tests, & appointments as
instructed by the physician and documented.
- Documents patient phone calls and prescription
refills.
- Perform capsule endoscopy
- Perform duties of a medical assistant in their absence
- Ensure recalls are kept current
- Verify pathology reports are received from hospitals for all inpatient and outpatient procedures
