JOB TITLE: Patient Services Representative
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: FRONT OFFICE TEAM LEAD
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Cooperative work attitude toward co-workers, management,
patients, visitors, and physicians

3. Communicate clearly and proficiently

REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Good communication skills
- Good computer skills
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
I. Communication
A. Communicates effectively and professionally with patients,
visitors, physicians, and co-workers
- Interacts with others in a positive, respectful, and
considerate manner
- Conducts self as a positive role model and team member
- Respects patient rights to privacy, dignity, and
confidentiality
II. Duties
- Greets patients and ensures demographic information is updated.
- Ensure referrals are obtained as necessary
- Verifying insurance and Valid ID - Scan insurance cards, driver’s license
- Collect co-pays/balances
- Manage and balance batches at end of day
- Distribute faxes as they are produced
- Scheduling procedures, labs, radiology, whatever the doctor has requested
- Collecting all % copays, payments missed at check-in, and past-due balances
- Verifying authorizations have been requested from PCP and received before the patient’s appointment
- Go through incoming faxes (checkout) and schedule ASAP or STAT appointments or make sure nurses are aware appointments are needed, and make sure other faxes are sent to the referrals department
- Scan in PCP office notes, labs, radiology, etc., and task to our providers for signature or review
- Make sure all specialty referrals (Cardio, Uro) requested are sent and received in a timely manner
- Scanning patient paperwork daily
- Handle medical releases
- Balance daily payments
