Admissions Assessment Therapist-Part Time
Location: Asheville, NC/remote options
The Assessment Therapist is responsible for completing comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments for all CooperRiis programs. The primary task is to ensure the fulfillment of the CooperRiis healing mission through the identification, screening, selection, and onboarding of residents and families.

Schedule: 16 hours per week; schedule can vary
Pay: $28.00 per hour for entry level and the offer increases based on experience
Responsibilities:
- Maintains a thorough understanding of the campuses and programs
- Provides excellent customer service with prospective residents and family as well as working collaboratively with referral sources
- Provides clinical records review of prospective residents, speaks with collateral contacts to gather current clinical information, and completes a comprehensive biopsychological assessment
- Assists Admissions Coordinators with identifying appropriate pre-screen questions based on records review prior to assessment
- Responsible for communicating admissions decisions to prospective residents and their families and assists with necessary communications with the family and program staff in preparation for the resident’s arrival
- Completes clinical assessments and determines recommendations for admissions based on established criteria and thorough review.
- Presents comprehensive clinical summaries to the program leadership team and collaborates on final determinations
- Has knowledge of insurance based medical necessity criteria and able to complete clear, detailed, accurate documentation to be used for insurance authorization requests
- Assists with phone coverage in the admissions department when no assessment is scheduled
Qualifications:
- Current NC license as LCSW, LCMHC, LMFT, & associate licenses only considered with experience
- Psy.D or Ph.D. degree in clinical psychology or counseling
- At least 3 years of experience in providing psychotherapy, clinical assessments, and/or other clinical services
- Preferred experience working with insurance and medical billing
