Key Responsibilities
- Lead the organization’s accounting and finance function, including general ledger, close, financial reporting, and compliance
- Supervise and develop a small internal finance team covering billing, A/R, payroll, and related functions
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and strong controls across financial processes
- Provide clear and actionable financial reporting to senior leaders and operational partners
- Serve as a hands‑on leader while helping elevate processes and best practices over time
- Partner with external advisors and support audit, tax, and regulatory needs
- Participate in finance systems optimization and future enhancements as the organization evolves
Required Background
- CPA required
- Experience in professional services environments (law firm experience highly relevant, but not required)
- 7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience
- Prior experience in a leadership role such as Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager
- Strong foundation in financial reporting, controls, and operational accounting
- Comfort working in a time‑and‑billing or services‑based business model
- Ability to communicate financial information effectively to non‑finance stakeholders
