The Correctional Officer performsroutine duties in accordance with established policies, regulationsand procedures to maintain order and provide for the security, careand direct supervision of inmates / residents in housing units, atmeals, during recreation, on work assignments and during all otherphases of activity in a correctional facility.
May employweapons or force to maintain discipline and order.
- Responsible for maintaining order and securityof inmates in a correctionalfacility.
- Able to work any shift, as you may be assignedto a variety of posts including, but not limited to, armory / keycontrol, housing units, kitchen, medical, visitation,etc.
requiring criminal justiceexperience.
Qualifications :
High school diploma, GED certification or equivalentrequired.
Once hired, must completepre-service correctional officer training and, where applicable, bea non-commissioned security officer licensed by the state ofemployment.
Must be certified in thediscipline of Corrections through the Florida Department of LawEnforcement (FDLE) and in good standing.
Avalid driver's license isrequired.
Demonstrate the ability to complete any requiredtraining.
Must be available to work any hours, anyshift.
Minimum age requirement : Must be at least 18 years ofage.
