Range Assistant
We are seeking a hands-on, reliable, and resourceful Range Assistant to support a wide variety of personal and professional responsibilities. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, is mechanically inclined, and can work independently. The role blends shooting range operations, property maintenance, firearms and reloading support, event preparation, vehicle/equipment tracking, and high-end client service.
Shooting Range Operations
- Maintain all steel and paper targets (painting, replacing, and ensuring all flashers are functional).
- Oversee and maintain camera systems and split-camera setups for shooting events.
- Keep the Range House, Clubhouse, and storage units clean, organized, and secure (vacuuming, dusting, trash removal, and basic repairs).
Property & Equipment Maintenance
- Maintain landscaping, mowing, trimming, and snow removal on hunting and recreational properties.
- Track service schedules for vehicles, ATVs, skid loaders, and other equipment.
- Assist with light repairs, building upkeep, and coordinating contractors as needed.
Firearms & Reloading
- Assist with precision reloading (organizing load data, components, and maintaining supplies).
- Clean and properly maintain firearms, ensuring readiness for events and hunting trips.
- Prepare firearms, ammunition, and gear for client shoots and personal use.
Event & Client Support
- Help with setup, operation, and teardown of client appreciation events (e.g., shooting events, machine gun shoots, dinners).
- Manage logistics such as catering, signage, and client hospitality.
- Ensure a professional, welcoming environment for all guests and clients.
General & Administrative Tasks
- Run errands, pick up supplies, and manage inventory for the shooting range and reloading operations.
- Provide support for personal and business-related projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude with tools, firearms, and equipment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
- Reliable, proactive, and comfortable juggling diverse responsibilities.
- Experience with outdoor property maintenance, firearms, or reloading is preferred but not required.
Compensation
- $20/hour plus $100 per month contributed into a Roth IRA, invested in an approved mutual fund or stocks.
