What are the responsibilities and job description for the Climbing Wall Attendant position at Countryside YMCA?
Climbing Wall Instructors
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. You must have a commitment to the YMCA mission and values; be successful in relationship building across the organization and community, be innovative and resourceful.
As a Climbing Wall Instructor, you will supervise the daily operation of the Summit Climbing Center, maintain a clean and safe and fun working environment, and record and administer all paperwork as dictated by policy.
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older (exceptions will be determined by program director)
Must pass a background check and complete new hire training modules within two weeks of start date
Must have an interest in working with young people and helping them to develop in spirit, mind and body
Must have basic knowledge of sports and a willingness to learn more regarding climbing and the Summit operations
Must be able to belay children/adultsMust be willing to work nights and weekends
Climbing Wall Hours of Operation
M-F from 6pm-9pm
Saturday from 10am-6pm
Sunday from 1pm-5pm
Hours Expected
3-8 hours weekly
Rate of Pay: $11.00/hour. All part-time staff working a minimum of 16 hours per quarter earn a free individual membership to the Countryside YMCA plus membership discounts!
