What are the responsibilities and job description for the Law Clerk position at County of Delaware?
Researches, prepares and reviews legal documents, laws, etc. for the Judge in preparation for court.Under general supervision of the Judge:
Physical Requirements: Normal good health, ability to function in highly stressful situations, ability to sit for long periods of time.

- Uses Westlaw to verify and research law
- Researches case transcripts, advanced court decisions, journals and books of Federal, State and Local Laws, statutes, rules, etc.
- Maintains updates for all research books
- Prepares opinions, orders etc. and reviews those prepared by others for Judge?s review
- Reviews all emergency petitions
- Meets with Judge and works with Secretaries preparing cases for trial
- Goes to court with Judge
- Performs related duties as required
