Summary
The Credentialing Coordinator is responsible for credentialing all providers for CCHS and health insurance contracts in accordance with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of Cozad Community Health System.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Develops and maintains positive working relationships with patients, co-workers, vendors, third-party payor resources, and related entities.
- Works with a physician credentialing organization for credentialing purposes.
- Collaborates with a credentialing team for health insurance contract credentialing.
- Coordinates with an external firm to enroll providers in the PECOS and Maximus system for professional fee billing.
· Communicates with the National Physicians Data Bank for Background checks of new providers.
· Works with Chief Medical Officer to credential new providers.
· Communicates with CFO for Professional Liability coverage for employed or contracted medical staff.
· Prepares a list of appointments and reappointments to Director of HIM for monthly Medical Staff meetings and CFO for monthly board meetings.
· Follows all HIPAA guidelines and promotes and ensures patient safety.
· Fulfills mission statement by performing job duties with a high level of customer service while contributing to a positive and professional environment.
· Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required. Electronic Health Records experience, medical terminology knowledge, computer experience, and ability to examine documents for accuracy required.
Licensure/Certification
Basic Life Support (CPR)
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with patients, visitors and employees.
