Job Responsibilities
As a Master Furrier, your duties will include but are not limited to: Fur Treatment and Preparation: Treat and prepare various types of furs for manufacturing or restoration. Quality Grading: Assess and grade furs based on quality and suitability for specific garments. Pattern Creation: Develop accurate and precise patterns for garment construction. Cutting and Repair: Expertly cut fur using a furrier’s knife and repair damaged skins to the highest standard. Shaping and Finishing: Block furs to achieve the desired shape and finish. Garment Sewing: Sew garments using both machine and hand-sewing techniques with precision and care. Restyling and Alterations: Restyle and alter existing fur garments to meet customer specifications or updated design standards. Customer Engagement: Communicate effectively with clients to understand their requirements and deliver exceptional service.
Qualifications: A minimum of 20 years of experience as a furrier. Comprehensive knowledge of various fur types and their unique properties. Mastery in using furrier’s tools and equipment. Exceptional attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to quality. Strong skills in pattern making and garment construction. Proficiency in repairing and restoring fur garments. Expertise in both machine and hand sewing techniques. Creative and artistic with a sharp eye for design and style. Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
