Key Responsibilities
- Partner with attorneys and practice group leaders to develop, evaluate, and implement fee proposals, including alternative fee arrangements (AFAs) such as fixed fees, success fees, and blended rates.
- Prepare detailed financial models to assess pricing scenarios, profitability, and risk.
- Analyze historical matter data to identify cost drivers, resource utilization, and profitability trends.
- Support client pitch and proposal processes by providing pricing input, budget estimates, and financial insight.
- Monitor ongoing matters to track performance against budgets and proactively flag potential variances.
- Maintain and enhance pricing tools, templates, and databases for efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with the finance and billing teams to ensure pricing structures are accurately reflected in billing systems and reporting.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve margins, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
- Stay informed on market trends, competitive pricing strategies, and best practices within the legal industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 3 years of experience in financial analysis, pricing, or related role—experience in a law firm or professional services environment strongly preferred.
- Strong financial modeling, Excel, and data analysis skills; proficiency with BI tools and financial systems a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams and stakeholders under tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
