About CrossOver Healthcare Ministry: CrossOver Healthcare Ministry provides compassionate, high quality healthcare to the uninsured and medically underserved in our local community through the operation of two healthcare clinics; one in the City of Richmond and one in Henrico County. CrossOver is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that offers comprehensive healthcare services to its patients, including: primary care, specialty care, pediatrics, dental, vision, behavioral health, HIV/AIDS care, women’s health & OB/GYN, medications and medications management, and social work case management.

Position Summary: The Nursing Coordinator – Pediatrics and Obstetrics will support CrossOver’s clinical team of staff and volunteer providers by overseeing the nursing care provided within the pediatric and obstetrics programs at CrossOver.

Hours: 40 hours per week. This position will be primarily located at CrossOver’s Henrico Clinic at 8600 Quiocassin Road, although working at the Richmond Clinic location (108 Cowardin Avenue) may be required. Some evenings and weekends may be required.

Salary: 55K-68K depending upon experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategically plan for the nursing care of pediatric and obstetrics patients.
• Supervise pediatric and obstetric nurses, MAs, and students. Train new volunteers and employed nurses. Manage nursing schedule. Oversee the nursing team on the clinical floor in the pediatric/OB suite upon opening of the new clinical area.
• Oversee nursing practice (of volunteer and employed staff) within the pediatric and obstetrics programs at CrossOver.
• Provide health education to individuals, families and community groups that are adapted to their unique needs, lifestyle, cultural and socio-economic status.
• Manage and assist in complex patient care cases and care management as needed. Provide care coordination, referral and follow-up to individuals and families who are members of a vulnerable population and/or high-risk groups. Evaluate outcomes and effectiveness of care plans and make changes as necessary.
• Assist the pediatric providers with vaccine record reconciliation and vaccine schedule planning.
• Lead CrossOver programs for Henrico and Richmond residents’ childhood vaccination initiatives. Oversee vaccination inventory and clinic supplies, with the help of medical assistants.
• Oversee childhood and adult immunizations and collaborate with the Virginia Department of Health regarding the Virginia Vaccines for Adults (VVFA) and Virginia Vaccine for Children (VVFC) programs.
• Participate in nursing steering committees and clinical leadership committees.
• Participate in data collection and qualitive improvement projects.
• Assist in Electronic Health Record (eClinical Works) management and problem-solving. Assist in programing, creation, and review of clinical interview questions and staff education of EMR utilization.
• Oversee miscellaneous clinic administration tasks.
• Implement practice changes as needed on the clinic floor. Participate in qualitative improvement initiatives.

Key Qualifications:

• Bilingual in Spanish and English (required)
• Experience writing and implementing nursing polices (preferred).
• Registered nurse with experience in pediatrics and at least 3-5 years of experience in nursing care.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience working with volunteers.
• Strong interest in promoting wellness to the medically underserved community.
• Knowledge of current epidemiology data analysis and surveillance methods used in the management of communicable diseases.
• Knowledge of computers and various software applications.
• Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills, as well as ability to prioritize multiple tasks with great attention to detail and logistical management.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Demonstrate ability to maintain working relationship with diverse populations and cultures; ability to engage patients and families in plan of care.
• Ability to mentor and build rapport with members from the communities we serve.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including some weekends and evenings.

Pay: $54,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
