Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations.
- Preparing food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients and cooking main dishes, desserts appetizers, snacks
- Working with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and time.
- Washing and cleaning the kitchen and cooking utensils and storing the equipment at the end of shifts.
- Ensuring that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations.
- Follow recipes. Portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by CTI.
- Monitor plate presentations to ensure quality, consistency and portion standards are being met.
- Assist with developing menu additions, specials in all menu categories on a regular and on going basis.
- Preparing meals and food to meet the specifications of guests in a timely manner
- Properly measuring kitchen ingredients and food portions
- Ensuring kitchen staff adhere to set standards, procedures, department rules and sanitation requirements
- Using kitchen knives and equipment such as grills, ovens, steamers and warmers in food preparation
- Managing the kitchen inventory and ensuring supplies are fresh and of high quality
- Ensuring proper food temperatures when cooking and proper storage afterward
- Keeping the workstation and kitchen equipment clean, organized and sanitized
- Taking charge of kitchen opening, closing and other side duties as directed by the Executive Chef
- Aid in recipe development / menu development
- Assist executive chef with any / all duties as assigned / needed
- Maintain kitchen compliance with health department, state, local and company policies
Qualifications
Desired Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years
- Ability to drive is required
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of times
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 40#
- General computer skills are preferred
- Must be able to handle cash transactions efficiently
- Excellent communication skills
- Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
- Formal culinary training
- Must have at least two years kitchen experience
- Serv-Safe Certificate
