Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer 2 in Lafayette, IN. The work will be done onsite. This is a long term contract. It can lead to permanent employment with our customer. Compensation is $75,000/yr OT including benefits, vision, dental, health insurance, 401K and holiday pay. Cullerton Group will provide sponsorship.

- This role plays a crucial part in the NTI/NPI Program for the G3600/C280 engines, focusing on engine price list and Bill of Materials (BOM) management, virtual design review audit issue resolution, and managing BOM and parts delivery for validation support.

- You will collaborate closely with NTI/NPI project team leads and various departments within our organization to ensure seamless integration of design changes and buildable engine configurations.

- This position is a backfill, essential for maintaining momentum and supporting ongoing NTI/NPI initiatives within the engine design team.
- Task Breakdown: Your typical day will involve creating engine models using 3D CAD for multiple projects, documenting BOM changes, updating engine price lists, auditing engine designs to resolve buildability issues, and managing validation materials for field support.
- Interaction Level with Team: You will interact closely with NTI/NPI project team leads for guidance on design changes and collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate virtual builds of the engines.
- Work Environment: You will work in an office environment equipped with the latest design tools and resources, fostering a dynamic and collaborative atmosphere.
Education & Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.
- 1-4 years of mechanical design experience, preferably in automotive, engines, or farming equipment industries.
- A BSME is desired, though candidates with an Associate degree and significant experience will also be considered.
- Previous experience with Caterpillar (Cat) products is a plus.
- Required: Strong mechanical and engine knowledge, familiarity with engines, automotive, or farming equipment.
- Desired: Experience in mechanical design using CREO or other 3D CAD software, Teamcenter Visualization, and excellent communication skills.
