The Solutions Architect provides hands-on technical leadership in IT systems engineering and solution development. This business-facing role collaborates with internal teams to design and document solutions that meet organizational needs while maintaining existing systems and developing future technology roadmaps.
Responsibilities:
- Advise IT and Executive Management on systems design, architecture, and configurations to develop technical solutions that meet business goals
- Design, plan, and document infrastructure and enterprise applications for both on-premises and cloud environments
- Partner with cybersecurity teams to implement security practices and ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards
- Create and maintain systems architectural diagrams and technical documentation
- Support Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity initiatives as part of the infrastructure leadership team
- Assist with budget planning and cost-effective procurement of hardware and software
- Research and test new technologies to support business operations
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 10 years developing solutions in multi-site corporate environments
- 10 years designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise systems
- 2 years as solutions architect or infrastructure domain architect
- Strong problem-solving abilities for complex technical issues
- Experience working with business leaders to understand requirements and develop solutions
- Server virtualization, authentication, storage, and cloud technology expertise
- Strong AWS Cloud Services knowledge (Azure/GCP experience preferred)
- VMware and/or Nutanix AHV virtualization experience
- Active Directory and Azure AD proficiency
- Disaster Recovery solution design and implementation experience
- Excellent communication skills and strong work ethic
- SCADA/Operational Technology knowledge preferred
- Enterprise application experience (SAP, ArcGIS, AVEVA PI) preferred
- Energy sector regulatory compliance understanding preferred
