Job Title: Solutions Architect
Pay Rate: $75–$80/hr (W2)

Location: San Diego (Hybrid) or Remote
About the Role:
We are seeking a seasoned Solutions Architect to lead the design and development of enterprise infrastructure solutions across a dynamic and fast-paced organization. This hands-on role is ideal for a technical leader who can bridge the gap between business needs and system capabilities, ensuring scalable, secure, and compliant infrastructure solutions.
As a key member of the Digital Infrastructure group, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, executive stakeholders, and security experts to shape both current systems and future technology roadmaps. The infrastructure environment spans across North America and supports a wide range of critical energy operations, including data centers, cloud environments, and energy generation facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert consultation to IT and executive leadership on systems design and architecture (25%)
- Lead planning, documentation, and implementation of hybrid cloud/on-prem solutions (25%)
- Integrate cybersecurity best practices into all design and implementation efforts (20%)
- Create and maintain system architecture diagrams and documentation (15%)
- Support disaster recovery, business continuity planning, and risk mitigation (5%)
- Assist with budget planning and procurement of infrastructure solutions (5%)
- Perform other duties as needed (5%)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 10 years of hands-on experience in systems architecture, engineering, and infrastructure operations in a multi-site enterprise environment
- At least 2 years of direct experience as a solutions or infrastructure domain architect
Required Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders
- Expertise in virtualization (VMware, Nutanix AHV), authentication, storage, and cloud technologies
- Advanced experience with AWS (Azure and GCP a plus)
- Solid knowledge of Active Directory and Azure AD
- Disaster recovery and business continuity planning experience
- Experience with regulated environments and compliance standards (e.g., NERC CIP)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of SCADA, SAP, ArcGIS, or AVEVA PI is a plus
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Primarily office-based (90%), with occasional travel to vendor and internal sites
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs for hardware installation and management
