Senior Accountant – Southern New Hampshire

A well-established insurance organization in Southern New Hampshire is looking to add a Senior Accountant to its corporate accounting team. This position provides hands-on involvement in financial reporting, insurance-specific accounting, and the implementation of IFRS 17, with regular collaboration across finance and actuarial groups.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute complex accounting activities across multiple legal entities within the organization.

• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, analyses, and account reconciliations.

• Complete monthly and quarterly close activities, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Support SOX compliance requirements and internal and external audit processes.

• Analyze loss programs and related financial transactions to ensure proper reporting.

• Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements, along with supporting schedules.

• Contribute to statutory (NAIC) reporting and internal management reporting.

• Support the implementation and ongoing application of IFRS 17.

• Partner closely with actuarial teams to align financial results and data reporting.

• Help develop scalable, efficient accounting and reporting processes.

• Provide guidance to junior team members and assist with ad hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of progressive accounting experience within the insurance industry.

• Strong understanding of IFRS, statutory accounting (STAT), and U.S. GAAP.

• Experience working with financial reporting systems and large data sets.

• Intermediate Excel skills; experience with SQL or data querying tools is a plus.

• Exposure to IFRS 17 strongly preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required.

• CPA and/or Master’s degree preferred.
