Senior Accountant – Southern New Hampshire
A well-established insurance organization in Southern New Hampshire is looking to add a Senior Accountant to its corporate accounting team. This position provides hands-on involvement in financial reporting, insurance-specific accounting, and the implementation of IFRS 17, with regular collaboration across finance and actuarial groups.
Key Responsibilities
Execute complex accounting activities across multiple legal entities within the organization.
Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, analyses, and account reconciliations.
Complete monthly and quarterly close activities, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
Support SOX compliance requirements and internal and external audit processes.
Analyze loss programs and related financial transactions to ensure proper reporting.
Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements, along with supporting schedules.
Contribute to statutory (NAIC) reporting and internal management reporting.
Support the implementation and ongoing application of IFRS 17.
Partner closely with actuarial teams to align financial results and data reporting.
Help develop scalable, efficient accounting and reporting processes.
Provide guidance to junior team members and assist with ad hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications
2–5 years of progressive accounting experience within the insurance industry.
Strong understanding of IFRS, statutory accounting (STAT), and U.S. GAAP.
Experience working with financial reporting systems and large data sets.
Intermediate Excel skills; experience with SQL or data querying tools is a plus.
Exposure to IFRS 17 strongly preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required.
CPA and/or Master’s degree preferred.
