Job Summary:
To support the Director of Catering and Food and Beverage Director in servicing our Members, guests, and wedding coordinators/planners. This candidate must have excellent verbal communication skills, the ability to lead as well as follow direction and must be a team player. This person must be motivated, visible and a proactive representative of the club. This person must be aimed towards addressing, anticipating and resolving Member and guest needs, by finding proactive solutions to situations that arise in a banquet setting.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
He/she will oversee banquet staff for scheduled events.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Work with Lead Banquet Captain and staff
- Work closely with Banquet Chef for each event
- Coordinate room set ups based on Banquet Event Order and Member needs
- Walk all meeting rooms in the beginning of the shift before guest arrival for correct set-up
- Monitor pre-function interior/exterior space for cleanliness
- Must have understanding on how to read and execute a Banquet Event Order
- Attend weekly BEO meetings and conduct clear communication on Events to service team
- Make sure all meeting rooms are set accordingly to BEO's and are clean and tidy at all times
- Daily recap of all event information submitted to Director of Food & Beverage, Director of Catering, and Food and Beverage team
- Communicate effectively with Event Management, Member, Guest, Banquet Chef, Front of House Management/Supervisor team on all Banquet needs
- Must effectively organize and communicate weekly routine of banquet setup and organizational needs with DCC Housemen staff
- To ensure superior service and sanitation standards, all rooms and table top utensils must be detailed and presentable prior to every function
- Make sure all equipment is in working order for the department
Experience:
- Three years minimum experience in a higher volume supervisory banquet role, preferably in a club setting
- TABC certified required
- A working knowledge of ala carte and fine dining outlets is beneficial
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Requires excellent oral and written communications skills
- Comprehend reading materials, speak, read and write English
- Neat in appearance and well groomed
- Maintain proper associate uniform standards
- Must be 18 years or older to serve alcohol
- General audio-visual knowledge helpful
- Good oral and written communications skills
- Ability to manage banquet service staff, between functions and a large number of staff.
- Must have Wine 101 knowledge, and basic knowledge of Cabernet Sauvignon versus Chardonnay.
- Maintain a clean, safe and environmentally responsible work environment.
Physical & Mental Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Must be a self-starter
- Must frequently lift and/or move up items to 50 pounds.
