What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sheet Metal Worker position at Danville Metal Stamping Co?
Sheet Metal Workers are responsible for operating a variety of hand tools to perform sheet metal assembly, forming, and fabricating of aerospace engine parts.
Essential functions of the position include:
- Operate hand tools and machinery to assemble, form, grind, and fabricate sheet metal
- Inspect parts and materials during the production process
- Basic computer skills
- Read and interpret blue prints and customer specifications
- Use calipers, micrometers, height stands, and indicators
- Daily housekeeping/6S duties
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications for the position include:
- Demonstrated ability with basic math skills
- Prior experience with sheet metal work, including assembling, grinding, or forming is preferred
- Demonstrated mechanical ability
- Strong problem solving skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills is preferred
- While performing duties of the job, the employee is required with or without accommodation to:
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
- Frequently required to stand and walk and occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Frequently required to use hands to handle, feel, and reach
