What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory Technician position at Darigold, Inc.?
Darigold is seeking a highly motivated Laboratory Technician to be a part of Darigold’s Rainier Plant located in Seattle WA. The Laboratory Technician must possess the desire and ability to perform analytic tests on company products. The Laboratory Technician’s role is to ensure that all products’ analytical, micro, and organoleptic properties are in compliance with product and regulatory specifications.
- Ensure that all products’ analytical, micro, and organoleptic properties are in compliance with product and regulatory specifications. This includes:
o Communicating test results to QA supervisor, QA Manager, and other Management as deemed necessary.
- Contacting supervisor immediately when product does not meet specifications. Recommending process adjustments to meet specifications.
- Obtain finished product and Raw line samples for micro and analytic testing
- Calibrating equipment and ensuring that testing equipment and methods produce results in agreement with an established standard
- Performing extra tests when needed
- Must have flexible schedule and must be able to work any shift including those that may not be directly assigned.
- Ability to think critically and troubleshoot
- Must be able to climb product tank ladders up to 40ft high
- Must be able to lift/push/pull 50lbs.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
- Good communication skills
- Ability to maintain a positive work attitude
- Ability to work in a fast paced and demanding environment
- High level of organizational and time management skills
- Ability to perform analytical and micro tests such that results agree with a standard and/or duplicate testing by a recognized laboratory
- Basic understanding of microbiology and familiarity with plating methods
- Bachelor's degree in a science discipline preferred
