What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation Planner position at Darigold, Inc.?
Darigold is looking for a Transportation Planner. This position will collaborate and partner closely with Customer Service, Sales and Transportation teams to facilitate the transportation execution process.
What You Will Do:
- Work closely with Customer Service, Sales and Transportation departments to facilitate the transportation execution process
- Tender loads to specific carriers within TMS
- Build loads in TMS
- Assist with dock scheduling
- Order consolidation and mode optimization
- Shipment exception monitoring
- Track and trace shipments
- Provide after hours, weekend and holiday coverage as needed
- Development and maintenance of process documentation
- Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned
What You Bring:
- High School Diploma
- 2 years of experience in logistics/manufacturing, procurement or supply chain is preferred
- Strong proven business acumen
- Work independently while contributing to a team environment
- Proactively identify and act on problems before issues occur
- Apply critical thinking skills to analyze and resolve complex problems
- Excellent communication, both verbal and written
- Possess a guest service mentality; has a genuine desire to serve the customer
- Energetic, innovative and flexible
- Maintain a calm, tactful demeanor when dealing with difficult situations
- Manage multiple projects and timelines with a sense of urgency
- Well organized and detail oriented
- Identify additional tasks to be completed and willingly assist others
- Proficient with MS Office suite and other work-related software
- Experience with TMS is preferred
