Davidson Day School is a diverse independent school that cultivates academic excellence through collaboration, creativity, and character development. Each student is offered an active, challenging learning environment through our broad array of programs. We have approximately 500 students from 2-year-old through 12th grade and are located in Davidson, North Carolina.
We are seeking Substitute Teachers on an as-needed basis for the 2023-24 academic year.
Responsibilities:
● Present classroom instruction as prepared by the classroom teacher.
● Follow other instructions and guidelines as provided by the classroom teacher.
● Cover other classroom teacher duties as required (i.e. lunch supervisor, study hall monitor).
● Contribute to the culture of learning by maintaining a professional attitude and demeanor.
● Create an environment of respect and meaningful connections.
● Maintain an organized and safe classroom environment.
● Promptly share any concerns with the Division Head.
● Perform all other duties appropriate to employment as determined by the Head of School.
● Comply with all rules and regulations established as school policy.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree is required.
● Prior teaching, tutoring, or childcare experience is preferred.
● Passion for working with students.
● Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with children, parents, and colleagues.
● Excellent communication skills and professionalism.
● Ability and desire to work collaboratively.
● Organized and reliable.
