Job Opening: Manager of Projects
Location: Salem, New Jersey
Position: Full-time, Manager of Projects
Key Responsibilities:
As the Manager of Projects, you will be responsible for:
Project Oversight:
- Ensuring project managers are effectively executing their duties.
- Acting as the principal contact for customers on higher-level issues and strategic business development.
- Managing relationships with local labor officials.
- Developing talent within your organization.
- Continuously improving internal and external industry knowledge and best practices.
Project Management:
- Managing multiple projects and purchase orders/releases.
- Overseeing projects with 50 to 150 craft (Nuclear/Fossil).
- Controlling staff and interfacing with multiple departments, including Safety, Project Controls, Field Accounting, Field Engineering/Planning, and Quality.
- Reporting to a Director, Projects, and managing projects with revenues from $5M-$25M.
Safety and Compliance:
- Full knowledge of the D&Z Safety Program.
- Effective communication of safety expectations.
- Root cause analysis and corrective measures implementation.
- Maintaining a strong safety culture.
Financial Management:
- Business finance and risk management competencies.
- Understanding contracts and financial obligations.
- Managing cash flow, invoicing, and accounts payable.
- Developing and managing comprehensive plans and estimates.
Customer Relations:
- Establishing and maintaining strategic customer relationships.
- Effective listening and communication skills.
- Presenting reports and plans to customer management.
- Acting as a strategic business partner.
Continuous Improvement:
- Following D&Z processes and procedures.
- Implementing process change management and improvements.
- Sharing best practices and continuous improvement opportunities across the organization.
Team Management:
- Effectively managing time and talent.
- Engaging support from Labor Relations, HR, and Staffing.
- Identifying and developing talent within the project organization.
- Mentoring and coaching team members.
Contract Management:
- Preparing complex level input for contracts.
- Negotiating revisions and additions to contractual agreements.
- Overseeing project execution and ensuring compliance with D&Z procedures.
Project Execution:
- Ensuring satisfactory close-out of all field-related elements.
- Completing final project reports and conducting lessons learned meetings.
- Providing feedback and recommendations for staff future assignments.
Qualifications:
- Typically 5 years of relevant Project Management experience in the power industry or similar field.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred; Associate's degree or completion of an apprenticeship program required.
- Strong project management skills with experience in safety, human performance, and purchase order/release criteria.
- Great attitude and team player.
- Successful completion of background screening process.

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $88,000- $193,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of union fringes).
