Job Overview
As the Lead Housekeeper, you will play a vital role in supervising our housekeeping team to ensure the maintenance, cleanliness and overall appearance of our campus. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will ensure that our residents' cottages are well maintained and our campus provides a welcoming and pristine environment. You’ll be an essential part of our hospitality team, contributing to the comfort and satisfaction of every resident and visitor.
What you’ll do
- Supervise our housekeeping team (4-8 housekeepers).
- Assist & coordinate the team in pod assignments, with assigned duties and tasks.
- Lead the team by example, ensuring tasks are divided fairly and equally.
- Evaluate work of the housekeeping team and provide training as needed.
- Assist and coordinate resident room moves as needed.
- Manage Make-Readies for all cottages prior to scheduled date of move-in.
- Perform cleaning duties according to schedule (daily, weekly, monthly) in assigned areas such as cottages, common areas, classrooms, offices, etc.
- Sweep, dust, dust mop and wet mop all floors and walkways. Spot clean and vacuum floors, rugs, carpets and runners. Rotate runners in hallways and entryways.
- Collect trash and refuse from work areas and places in designated pick-up areas.
- Clean, sanitize and polish both lavatory, shower and sink fixtures and facilities; stock dispensers as necessary.
- Dust, washes, sponge mop, sanitize and hand shampoo furniture; dust desk and floor lamps; clean and polish glass surfaces, woodworks, window frames and sills.
- Scrub bath and shower room tiles, woodwork, window frames and sills.
- Maintain equipment and materials needed to perform work in a clean an orderly condition.
- Report any needed repairs.
- Report supply and equipment needs to supervisor for replenishing.
Basic qualifications
- Proven experience in cleaning or janitorial roles.
- Experience working with the special needs community or an interest in doing so.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to be on your feet for longer periods of time.
Preferred qualifications
- Proven experience in cleaning or janitorial roles.
- Knowledge of proper chemical handling and safety procedures related to cleaning products.
