ABOUT DAYTON ENERGY COLLABORATIVE (DEC)
We are an emerging and growing non-profit organization committed to making existing housing energy efficient, resilient, and healthy for and with residents of Dayton. We build energy efficiency and home health programs; we offer one-on-one case management assistance; and we develop partnerships, processes, and programs to address gaps in community services that support home improvement.
A significant focus of DEC’s work is facilitating the Dayton Home Repair Network (DHRN). The goal of this network is to create a one-stop shop for the income-based home repair programs in the Dayton region. DEC is hiring a Case Manager to build our capacity to meet the scale of work needed. This position is grant-funded through April 2028, with the intention that DEC will make the position permanent once the grant is expended.
Location: Dayton, OH | in-person with a flexible working schedule | after-hours and some weekend events/meetings required

Job Summary: The Case Manager will be part of DEC’s Intake Team; they will handle daily client phone calls, emails, and work 1:1 with clients to provide application support and resources for eligibility complications. (Clients are people seeking home repair services for their homes.) They will work with the Intake Team to develop and implement intake processes, policies, and build DEC’s client resource database. The Case Manager will also actively conduct community engagement work to increase DEC’s presence in the community, strengthen bonds with clients, and reach households with the highest needs. These responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, tabling at community events, attending neighborhood/community meetings, and canvassing neighborhoods. Other jobs and responsibilities may be assigned.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Case Management:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for the DEC clearinghouse of the Dayton Home Repair Network (DHRN), providing accurate program information and application support to the community.
- About the DEC clearinghouse: DEC operates the community access point, or “front door” for the DHRN. We determine if households are eligible for any DHRN programs and assist with the application process.
- Provide application support and case management services for residents seeking home improvement assistance. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to offering verbal guidance, conducting in-person application appointments, providing relevant resources, and offering printing/scanning services.
- Work to improve communication and program process understanding to the community through delivering verbal and physical resources.
- Work with the DEC team to integrate future household education programs into the case management process.
- Work with the DEC Intake team to ensure a smooth and efficient experience for clients.
Intake Process Management:
- Organize and submit applications to DHRN partners.
- Collect client data clearly, accurately, and consistently. Effectively use and improve DEC’s client tracking platforms: Google Drive, , Salesforce, etc.
- Consult with the Intake Team about complicated client cases to ensure the best resource offering(s) and ethical practices.
- Adapt as processes shift and new policies are adopted.
Community Outreach:
- Serve as a spokesperson for DEC, promoting its mission and programs to the community.
- Attend relevant community events, meetings, conferences, etc. to provide DEC and DHRN program information and guidance.
- Work with the Intake team (and Executive Director) to implement DEC’s community outreach strategy.
- Build and maintain relationships with neighborhoods, community leaders, organizations, and governmental agencies to ensure a strong DEC presence in the community.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with all DEC staff to support organizational goals.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, providing informed feedback to manager and other applicable DEC staff, to improve program effectiveness, efficiency, etc.
- Exhibit and encourage a supportive and collaborative culture with coworkers.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.07 - $27.40 per hour
