Summary:

The HSE Coordinator will focus on supporting the implementation of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures, reporting directly to the HSE Supervisor. The Coordinator will work closely with operational teams to ensure compliance with safety standards, promote a culture of safe work practices, and minimize risks across field and office environments. The HSE Coordinator will actively engage in daily activities to support risk management, training, spill remediation and incident response.


Job Duties:

  • Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures that align with federal, state, and industry-specific regulations, ensuring consistent application across all operations.
  • Organize and deliver HSE training sessions for field and professional staff, focusing on safety regulations, best practices, and operational risk awareness.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential health, safety, and environmental hazards in work environments.
  • Perform routine safety inspections and compliance audits of work areas, including field operations, construction sites, and water supply locations, to ensure adherence to applicable laws and standards.
  • Support incident management by investigating HSE incidents, documenting findings, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare detailed reports on incidents, audits, training sessions, and corrective measures for internal and regulatory purposes.
  • Coordinate with operational teams and HSE management to ensure seamless communication and compliance with safety protocols during high-risk activities.
  • Propose and support initiatives to enhance HSE performance, including spill reduction efforts, process improvements, and environmental impact mitigation.
  • Enter and manage incident data in HSE software, ensuring accurate tracking from initial reporting to verification of corrective actions for both internal and vendor-related incidents.
  • Support environmental impact assessments and coordinate with regulatory bodies and vendors to ensure timely and compliant remediation efforts.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HSE software tools to improve analytics, recordkeeping, and communication of critical safety information.
  • Provide guidance during critical events, including participation in Incident Command systems and field support as needed.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Safety and Environmental Management System through data analysis and trend identification.
  • Support the HSE Supervisor in preparing HSE data and reports for Management and regulatory submissions.
  • Foster a culture of safety by promoting awareness and accountability among all operational teams through regular engagement and site visits.
  • Provide or facilitate support for permit required confined space entry projects, hot work, critical lifts, excavation activities greater than four feet in depth and in which entry by workers will be made, elevate work and sim-ops.
  • Facilitate incident investigations and incident review meetings for both internal incidents and incidents involving vendors as appropriate.
  • Conduct vendor performance and compliance audits.
  • Coordinate with HSE management to develop and deliver internal compliance training that meets all applicable federal and state requirements.
  • Provide case management support during incidents resulting in injury or illness.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of legal obligations, relevant industry standards and Health & Safety best practices and communicating changes to the business.
  • Regular engagement with all operations teams including visits to field operations, construction locations, water supply locations, operations locations, and offices to provide compliance support.
  • Lead and/or facilitate incident investigation efforts to include validation of the completion of corrective actions.
  • Support peer development of fellow HSE team members through coaching and training.


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in Health, Safety, and Environmental practices preferred.


  • Strong organizational and time management skills to manage schedules and prioritize tasks effectively.


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with operational teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies.


  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as required.


  • Ability to work outdoors 50% to 80% during working hours.


Required Skills:

  • Comprehensive understanding of HSE regulations, particularly those applicable to the oil and gas sector.


  • Ability to design and deliver effective training programs tailored to operational needs.


  • Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and adapting safety programs to address identified hazards.


  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate training and incident data and recommend process improvements.


  • Capability to communicate complex safety and environmental concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
