SALES MANAGER
Job Description
The following duties for the position listed shall include but not be limited to;
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Hiring, training, motivating, counseling, and monitoring the performance of all new vehicle sales employees as well as processing commission sheets and monitoring payroll.
- Understanding, keeping abreast of, and complying with federal, state, and local regulations that affect new-vehicle sales.
- Assisting individual salespeople in setting aggressive yet realistic monthly goals and assisting on sales and closing deals, as well as approving all deals made.
- Tracking all customers and making sure all leads are logged.
- Providing effective communication throughout the new vehicle department as well as inter-departmentally.
- Monitoring customer satisfaction ratings for the department and ensuring proper follow-up for all potential buyers by developing, implementing and monitoring a prospecting and sales control system.
- Reviewing inventory daily to ensure the proper mix of stock for maximum turnover efficiency.
- Recommending specific new vehicle inventory needs by color, model and equipment based on customer and market analyses.
- Maintain all sales, inventories, and profit targets within a defined budget.
- Updating product applications, negotiating new product lines, and assisting in catalog development.
- Vehicle knowledge.
- Coordinate website development with other departments.
- Maintain a constant workforce on the showroom floor.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Keeping track of numbers for the Sales department.
- Maintain department’s stock and inventory.
- Maintains the staff department to the needs of the dealership and customers.
- Capable of implementing an agreed-upon sales procedure and closing deals.
- Have the ability and desire to keep current on trends and new products in the industry.
- Abide by all dealership policies pertaining to the department including general housekeeping.
- Follow company dress codes and be well groomed at all times.
- Any other specific duties are deemed necessary for the overall success of the department and the dealership as a whole.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Strong background in the Motorsports industry.
- Computer literacy.
- Prefer interest and experience in the motorsports industry.
- Knowledgeable in all the Sales department areas.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 5 motorsports industry experience. Additionally, the ability to manage and motivate salespeople is necessary.
- Required to maintain the profitability of their department while controlling expenses and retaining customer satisfaction.
- Creative problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and act tactically.
- Highly organized with the ability to multi-task across multiple projects; excellent project management skills and attention to detail.
- Management personnel requires strong, excellent verbal & communication skills to deal with customers, employees, and vendors.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment with multiple strict deadlines.
- Expert software skills including MSWord, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong background in business, mathematics, & marketing.
- This position reports directly to the General Manager.

LUNCH & REST PERIODS
- All employees who work more than six (6) hours per day are scheduled for a lunch period of thirty (30) minutes to one (1) hour without pay. If you are scheduled to work under six (6) hours you may take a thirty (30) minute unpaid meal break upon request and approval. Your supervisor will post your scheduled meal period on the bulletin board if needed. This time must be reflected on your time card or time sheet.
You are entitled to and encouraged to take one ten (10) minute rest period during
each four (4) hours worked. Depending on customer traffic, schedules for these
rest periods may vary.
HOUSEKEEPING / PERSONAL PHONE CALLS
- Outgoing personal phone calls should be rare and on an emergency basis ONLY. Incoming personal phone calls should be limited to 2 minutes and redirected to after-work hours. Use of personal cell phones is strictly prohibited in the building. Del Amo Motorsports reserves the right to monitor any and all conversations for quality assurance.
- Merchandise or personal belongings are NEVER ALLOWED on the floor, under tables, behind cashier counters, or in the immediate vicinity of POS terminals. All personal belongings must be stored in employee lockers ONLY located in the employee lounge room. No food is permitted on or about the vicinity of the selling floor. Each employee is responsible for keeping the selling floor, the break areas, and the rest rooms and storage areas “neat and clean” for yours and your co-workers respect. Refrigerators and any cabinets are not to be used as overnight storage areas.
PAYDAY
- You will receive your paycheck by 4:00 p.m. on the 25th for the pay period of the 1st to the 15th and the 10th of every month for the 16th to the last day of the month. Your supervisor will inform you of how your paycheck will be delivered to you, or where you may pick it up.

ATTENDANCE & PUNCTUALITY
- Regularity of attendance and punctuality is expected of each employee. However, there are times when tardiness is unavoidable. In this instance, you should notify your supervisor at least one hour before your scheduled work time. Excessive absenteeism or tardiness can result in disciplinary action up to and including dismissal. If absence is unavoidable you should notify your supervisor at least (1) day in advance. Excessive absenteeism is defined as more than five (4) unscheduled absences in any sixty (60) day period. Tardiness is defined as more than five (5) minutes late, without notice; excessive tardiness is defined as more than five (5) days in any ninety (90) day period.
REPORTING ABSENCES
- If it is necessary for you to be unexpectedly absent for any reason, you must notify your Manager by telephone at least one (1) day before you are due to report to work. “This is mandatory” so that plans can be made for your duties to be assumed by someone else or divided among your coworkers. Reporting your absence to one of your coworkers does not satisfy this requirement.
EMPLOYEE PARKING
- Employee parking is in the rear and right of the lot in front of the service department, if you are not sure ask you supervisor. Any employee riding a motorcycle to work can park on front parking lot and the motorcycle assigned area. Employees are NOT allowed to park cars in the front parking lot of the dealership.
