A Banquets Captain oversee catered events and functions including special events, weddings and business and social functions which includes set-up and service of the functions ensuring that the highest level of service is provided to the client.
- Training waitstaff.
- Supervises on-going banquets.
- Communicate with Kitchen and Bakery in regards to timing and counts of functions.
- Gather stock for assigned functions.
- Fill out captain reports.
- Meet with group contacts to verify timing and count for each assigned functions.
- Assign waitstaff stations, pre-function and post-function duties to staff.
- Assist in setting of Banquet rooms.
- Ensure that timeless, service standards and quality standards are maintained at all banquet and coffee break functions.
- Check with group contacts prior to, during and after functions to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Conducts pre-meal staff meetings.
- Performs the duties of Banquet Waitstaff and Set-Up Attendants as necessary.

Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Prior banquet experience required; must have 2 years minimum of waitstaff experience and general supervisory experience preferred.
- Need to have an excellent command of the English language.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, hands to feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
The position is indoors and outdoors; and is exposed to hot, humid and/or cold conditions at times. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The staff member will work in a high traffic/high volume business environment and will be required to spend a majority of their time on their feet.
