Founded in 1972, DSC provides educational, professional, residential and behavioral support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Champaign and Ford counties. If you are seeking a rewarding and fulfilling job, we are currently hiring for the position of Speech Language Pathologist (SLP).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• As a Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) for DSC, you will be joining a team of dedicated early childhood providers including other SLPs, occupational therapist, physical therapist, developmental therapists, developmental screening specialist, and home visiting staff. The SLP will be responsible for providing communication and feeding assessments to children referred to the Family Development program. The caseload will be primarily early intervention. Support and assistance in obtaining early intervention credential will be provided upon hire. The SLP will also assist in screening and identifying children for referral to the early intervention system and early childhood programs. Opportunities to supervise student interns and practicum students may also be available.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Master’s degree in Speech Pathology or Communication Disorders
• Certification by the American Speech and Hearing Association and one-year related work experience
• Illinois License to practice as a Speech/Language Pathologist
• Participate/complete continuing education to satisfy certification requirements
• Experience working with infants, toddlers, families
• Ability to work cooperatively with staff in a transdisciplinary team approach. Experience in working with professionals and other personnel, including parents
• Good written and verbal communication. Knowledge of speech and language services available in the community
