About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Project Manager to oversee ground-up and tenant improvement (TI) commercial construction projects. This position is with a leading mechanical subcontractor specializing in complex HVAC and piping systems for healthcare, technology, life sciences, and education facilities. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all phases of mechanical construction projects, from preconstruction through closeout.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and procurement activities.
- Oversee installation of HVAC, piping, and other mechanical systems, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Coordinate with general contractors, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing excellent communication and service.
- Implement safety policies and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Visit job sites regularly to monitor progress and address any challenges.
- Mentor and guide project engineers, coordinators, and field staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
- 8 years of experience managing large-scale mechanical construction projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, piping, and related mechanical systems.
- Experience in ground-up and TI commercial construction.
- Background in projects for healthcare, technology, life sciences, or education sectors.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
