What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager – Water / Wastewater (Mechanical) position at Diamond Peak Recruiting?
Project Manager – Water / Wastewater (Mechanical)
Alameda, California
This is not a role for someone still figuring it out.
We’re looking for a senior Project Manager with a decade or more spent delivering water and wastewater infrastructure—the kind of work that doesn’t tolerate excuses, delays, or surprises.
You understand heavy civil construction, and you bring a mechanical backbone: HVAC, piping, plumbing—systems that have to work the first time, every time.
You’ve been trusted with real responsibility before. Large budgets. Complex scopes. Stakeholders who expect answers, not explanations.
You’ll take ownership of projects from the moment they’re awarded through final closeout. You’ll run schedules, control costs, manage risk, and lead teams that know when you walk into the room, the project is in capable hands. Engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, owners—you’ve worked with them all, and you know how to keep them aligned.
This role requires someone who can see the full picture while never losing sight of the details.
Someone who understands that water and wastewater projects aren’t just construction—they’re essential infrastructure.
What we expect
- 10 years managing water/wastewater or heavy civil projects
- A strong mechanical background in HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems
- Experience leading technically complex scopes in active or regulated environments
- The ability to command a project—financially, operationally, and professionally
- A presence in the Alameda / East Bay area, or close enough to matter
What you’ll get
- Challenging, high-profile infrastructure work with long-term stability
- Authority to run your projects without micromanagement
- A company that values experience, judgment, and accountability
- Work that leaves something lasting behind
If you’ve already proven yourself in this space and you’re ready for a role that respects that, we should talk.
