Human Resources Generalist
The didgalic Wellness Center is an integrated care clinic that combines primary care, behavioral health, and opiate treatment, and is seeking a Human Resources Generalist. The Human Resources Generalist will provide support for all aspects of the Human Resources department, including hiring, onboarding, benefits, retention, personnel records, organizing training, and termination. This position requires a perceptive person who can relate to individuals at all levels within the organization. The Human Resources Generalist works within applicable federal, state, and tribal regulations as well as established company policies, and procedures.
What You'll Do
- Provides current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, opportunities for promotion, and employee benefits.
- Assists Recruiter with recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt workers, works with department managers to screen and interview candidates, conducts reference checking, extends job offers, conducts new-employee orientations, and conducts exit interviews.
- Assists department managers to interpret, ensure adherence to, and compliance with established human resources related policies and procedures.
- Monitors employee eligibility for benefits plans. Reviews benefits with employees and processes enrollment, cancellation, or changes. Organizes annual open enrollment communications and election process. Maintains and tracks new and cancelled employees under each benefit plan. Verifies benefit billing accuracy for payment.
- Supports and advises managers and supervisors in the progressive discipline system of the company. Supports the implementation of a performance improvement process with non-performing employees.
- Maintains and processes all Unemployment Notices of Entitlement and potential charges in a timely, efficient manner.
- Supports company compliance with legal and government programs including Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and worker compensation programs.
- Maintains all employee personnel files and emergency contact information.
Must Haves*
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, or Organizational Development.
- Three (3) years of progressive Human Resource experience is required.
- Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other Human Resources recognition and engagement programs and processes.
- Experience working in a healthcare or wellness setting is desirable.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR is desirable.
- Experience working with Native American tribes preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in employment law, recruitment, organization development, employee relations, safety, employee engagement, and employee development.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment and skills in Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
- Exceptional written and spoken communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to serve as a knowledgeable resource to the executive management team.
- Ability to pass criminal background check, pre-employment drug and provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
