Job description

The Driver’s primary responsibility is to deliver packaging from the company’s manufacturing facility/warehouse to two storefronts located within the county. The driver will check to ensure that all jobs are ready for delivery and have been placed onto a pallet and shrink wrapped for safe loading and transport. At the delivery site, the driver will unload the jobs with the assistance of a pallet jack and store employee, when needed.

• Check and inspect the vehicle that will be used to ensure it is in good running condition prior to operation each day.
• Check jobs that will need to be delivered to different locations.
• Shrink wrap jobs in a pallet for safe loading and handling.
• Load and help unload jobs at different locations.
• Report any workplace hazards to management immediately.
• Ensure all equipment or tools, to be used are in good working order, free of any safety hazards and proper for the task at hand.
• Must be available for any required overtime based on business needs.
• Must be proactive with completing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license.
• Maintain a safe driving record, as detailed in the company’s Motor Vehicle Safety Program.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to read, write, speak & understand English.
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers.
• Ability to use hand/power tools and safe use of them.
• Ability to multitask with changing priorities.
• Ability to recognize safety issues & corrective actions.

Working Conditions:

The Driver will work in a warehouse/manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, dependent upon ambient conditions, alongside machine and mobile equipment. The driver will also drive on freeways and city streets in either a box truck or cargo van.

Physical Requirements:

The Driver position will have the following physical requirements:

• Standing/Walking (at least 25% of shift)
• Sitting (at least 75% of shift)
• Lifting/Pushing/Pulling up to 40 lb. (at least 25% of shift)
• Bending/Twisting/Squatting (at least 25% of shift)
