Description
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the LTCO Volunteer Coordinator the LTCO Volunteer will seek to improve the quality of life and care of consumers residing in LTC facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Complete Volunteer Certification Hours and Test (18 CEU hours are required after completion of this certification on a yearly basis)
- Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality standards.
- Visit their assigned facility at least once a week or a minimum of 4 hours a month.
- Volunteers will provide education to residents about their rights and assist with complaint resolution.
- Attend Resident Council Meetings with residents’ authorization.
- Submit on a timely basis accurate documentation.
- Performs duties with respectful communications and behaviors.
- The individual is responsible and accountable for notifying Volunteer Coordinator immediately about any abuse or neglect allegations.
- Consistent communication with Volunteer Coordinator in reference to concerns, issues, questions and others.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Visit assigned facility on a regular basis to educate residents on their rights, empower residents to voice their concerns and assist and assess with complaint handling.
Qualifications
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age.
- Reliable transportation with a valid driver's license and car insurance.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Computer skills preferred and strong written skills.
