Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Collections/Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have experience in collections, AR management, and excellent communication skills. You will be responsible for managing the company’s receivables, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining positive relationships with our clients.
Responsibilities
- Manage Accounts Receivable: Monitor and manage the AR aging report, ensuring that all invoices are collected in a timely manner.
- Collections: Contact customers via phone, email, and mail to follow up on overdue invoices and Legal/Collection packages. Negotiate payment plans and resolve any billing issues.
- Customer Account Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records, including payment history and contact information.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on collections status, AR aging, and cash flow projections for management.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the contract managers and project managers to resolve any customer disputes and ensure smooth billing processes.
- Compliance: Ensure all collections activities comply with company policies and relevant regulations.
Qualifications
Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in collections and AR, preferably in the landscaping or construction industry.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Deltek ComputerEase is a plus) and MS Office365, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Certifications: Relevant certifications in AR or collections are a plus.
