Job Responsibilities:
- Design and engineer custom metal products
- Perform new and revised product designs using 3-D modeling
- Create production drawings and determine proper tolerances
- Communicate with customers and outside vendors
- Work closely with the sales department to create concepts in a timely manner
- Determine proper feasibility, performance, and reliability during the design process
- Serve as Project Manager on large volume projects
- Prepare color renderings for customer presentations
- Work closely with estimating, tooling, purchasing, and samples
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in a related field
- 2 years of successful work experience as a Designer/Drafter
- Proficient with Solid Works
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented and superb organization skills
- Advanced arithmetic skills and the ability to read blueprints
- High level of creativity, ability to think 'outside the box'
- Able to measure with a caliper, a micrometer, and a standard tape measure
- Must be adaptable to change and possess good troubleshooting skills
