Position Overview
dormakaba is seeking a first shift (6AM – 2:30PM) Machinist II based in Indianapolis, IN. The Machinist II is responsible for performing machine setups, tool changes, and adjusting as necessary.
HOURLY HIRING RANGE: $23/hr. - $25/hr. plus mandatory overtime as needed (rate of pay to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data). $2,000 Sign-on Bonus (details provided during interview)
What You Will Do
- Follow operation instructions according to standard operating instructions
- Monitor and maintain equipment safely, load stock and empty scrap hoppers with fork trucks
- Document and inspect quality of work per Quality Assurance Inspection Procedure (QAIP)
- Load setup automatic and transfer equipment into presses and screw machines
- Use micrometers, height gauges, calipers, and comparator
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Extensive experience operating, setups, tool changes, etc.
- Understanding of shop math & blueprint reading/comprehension Geometric Dimensional and Tolerance (GD&T).
- Ability to perform advanced quality inspections.
- Professional communication skills.
- SAP or other Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system knowledge
- Understanding of quality control concepts
- Computer proficiency and Lean skills
