COMPENSATION & BENEFITS INCLUDE:
0-3% Merit upon successful completion of the probationary period and 0-3% annual merit increases thereafter based upon evaluation score.

Description
Responsible for performing a wide variety of technical, complex or specialized office support of the operations of the Assessor's Office; processes and performs data entry of moderately complex documents, records fees, and provides information to the public.
- Assists general public, customers and staff in person, over telephone and by email; answers inquiries, provides general direction related to plan reviews and inspections, receives and attempts to resolve complaints, explains policies, procedures and proper use/completion of department forms.
- Manages databases and/or spreadsheet files and to develop special report formats.
- Researches and assembles information from a variety of sources for the completion of forms or the preparation of reports; makes arithmetic or statistical calculations.
- Processes complex documents requiring the use of independent analysis and judgment, assuring completeness and accuracy; maintains records, and conducts data entry of certain records; assists with the data entry for real property Appraisers into the database software and Marshall & Swift databases; maintains both statistical and non-statistical records and compiles regular reports.
- Receives, processes and explains various tax exemption and rebate programs to the public; answers complex and difficult inquiries from the public or other departments regarding parcels of land and County policies and procedures related to assessments; interprets property deeds and explains property maps to the general public.
- Provides support to Appraisers; copies and records fees for property maps as requested; prepares a variety of general correspondence, legal documents, special reports, and instructions; maintains and monitors files, follows-up on due dates, and performs other monitoring functions to ensure timely completion of work; performs a variety of other clerical duties including copying and assembling materials, collecting and distributing mail, answering phones, faxing documents, and other related tasks.
- Organizes, maintains and purges various departmental files.
- Proofreads and checks materials for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with departmental policies and regulations.
- Enters and retrieves data and prepares reports using a variety of software programs; reviews such reports for accuracy and makes corrections as required; operates standard office equipment.
- May train and direct the work of temporary staff for special projects or programs.
- Represents the County with dignity, integrity, and a spirit of cooperation in all relationships with staff and the public.

Education and Experience:
High School diploma AND two (2) years of general administrative support experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
