Job Title: Lead Therapist
Supervised by: Program Director
Position Summary
- Promotes consumer independence and community participation through creative planning, effective use of staff, management, and professional teamwork.
Essential Functions
- Formulates individualized programs for consumer treatment and rehabilitation, using knowledge of drug and alcohol abuse problems and counseling and treatment techniques.
- Refers consumer to other support services as needed, such as medical evaluation and treatment, social services, and employment services.
- Maintains timely, accurate, and legible case records, including documentation of services provided.
- Maintains certifying credentials, including attendance at continuing education programs appropriate to population being served.
- Acts as a resource to consumers and counselors in developing treatment plans. Advocates with consumer for individual needs and desires, encourage staff involvement in the planning process.
- Ensures follow through on each consumer’s established objectives and documentation of progress.
- Supports and advocates for consumer opportunities and success.
- Counsels consumers individually and in group sessions to assist them in overcoming alcohol and drug dependency.
- Counsels family members to assist them in dealing with and providing consumer support.
- Monitors consumer condition to evaluate success of therapy, and adapts treatment as needed.
- Performs intakes and assessments when necessary.
- Education and awareness on core competencies in relation to individuals with co-occurring disorders to be addressed in training activities.
- Provides Psychotherapy Groups and Individual Sessions weekly.
- Provides assistance to the Clinical Director in the absence of the Program Director
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education/Experience
- Currently possesses or in process of obtaining Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) credentials and/or other Behavioral Health License ie; LPC, LCSW, or LADC-MH
- Minimum of one-year documented experience in service provision in consumer-based counseling program.
- This is a Safety Sensitive position.
