Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to join our client's growing team in the manufacturing sector. This is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven leader who is passionate about creating a safe, compliant, and sustainable work environment. In this role, you will have the ability to shape and influence EHS strategy, ensuring best-in-class practices across operations.
Reporting directly to the Plant Manager and with a dotted line to the Corporate EHS Director, you will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and maintaining EHS programs that protect employees, safeguard the environment, and support operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Implement EHS Programs: Design and execute comprehensive environmental, health, and safety policies that meet regulatory requirements and align with corporate standards.
- Drive Compliance and Continuous Improvement: Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and lead initiatives to improve safety performance and reduce risk.
- Greenfield Project Expertise: Apply your experience in greenfield operations to establish robust safety systems and processes for new facilities.
- Hands-On Leadership: Actively engage on the manufacturing floor, partnering with operations teams to identify hazards, provide training, and foster a strong safety culture.
- Incident Management and Reporting: Oversee investigations of incidents, near misses, and environmental events, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions are implemented.
- Training and Development: Deliver impactful EHS training programs to employees at all levels, promoting awareness and accountability.
- Metrics and Reporting: Track key performance indicators, prepare reports for leadership, and recommend strategies for improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Safety Management, Engineering, or related field (required).
- 5 years of EHS experience in a process manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
- Proven ability to lead EHS initiatives and influence organizational culture.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Greenfield project experience is highly desirable.
