The Market Risk Analyst is responsible for the daily monitoring of liquidity and market risk exposure presented by clients, perform analysis based on the clients and senior managements requests, and work with technology team with system improvements. Being a member of our Risk Management team, you’ll work to protect the safety and soundness of our systems and are responsible for identifying, handling, measuring, and mitigating a spectrum of key risk types including credit, market, liquidity, systemic, operational and technology in all existing and new products, activities, processes and systems. Partner with FICC Market Risk counterparts, SMEs and Technology to support Market system related projects; Act as a Product Owner while liaising with partners to assess, analyze, capture, document, communicate, validate and deliver business, regulatory, audit and system requirement for Market Risk applications.
Your Primary Responsibilities:Risk Management Activities
- Perform day-to-day functions contained in the unit's procedures such as researching significant increases in margin requirements, settlement obligation, tracking trading patterns of member firms etc.
- Develop a strong understanding of client’s business and risk profiles in order to serve as a point of contact for risk related support and inquiries.
- Take ownership for identifying and mitigating risk within assigned areas of responsibility and for supporting risk mitigation across DTCC.
- Aligns risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; calls out appropriately.
- Assess existing processes and suggest new ones that most effectively anticipate,
- handle, and reduce risk to DTCC and its participants
- Provides support for the preparation of written responses to audit and regulatory reports.
- Perform research necessary to support analyzing different margining methodologies.
- Complete the plan for implementation of new margining methodologies and improvements of existing methodologies, including preparation of test scripts and testing, preparation of business requirements, progress memos, etc.
- Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs
- Review Use Cases and other functional documents with IT project staff to ensure business requirements are adequately reflected in technical planning documents
- Provide support to the build and SIT teams to clarify requirements on an ad hoc basis as needed
- Support business users and technology staff with the UAT process
- Collaborate with technology staff to translate business requirements to the appropriate level of detail
- Partner with the business users in establishing key business objectives and priorities
- Educate clients on FICC's services and Risk initiatives
- Work directly with appropriate business personnel to understand solutions concept, objectives and approach; facilitate defining project strategy and scope
- Accountable for prioritizing, planning, implementing and tracking of product backlog for all relevant projects
- Participate in all Agile Ceremonies as a Product Owner
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Degree in Finance, Business, Economics or relevant major
- Must be analytical and detail oriented while working with large data sets
- Ability to handle client inquiries with excellent interpersonal skills
- 2 years financial services proven experience in the areas of margining, liquidity risk analysis, or product management.
- Experience with UAT process and testing
- Proven Business Analysis capabilities
- Proficient in Microsoft office and Access database, experience in Python is a plus.
- Familiarity with risk management methodologies (i.e. VaR) is a plus
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to adapt quickly to program changes

- Strong written and verbal communication
- Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to manage relationships/expectations
- High degree of perceptiveness, bringing right people to the table for discussions
