What are the responsibilities and job description for the Billing and Reimbursement Analyst position at DuPage County Health Department?
An employee in this class is responsible for supporting the Billing Supervisor with coordinating daily tasks as assigned including cash processing, collections and/or general billing. In this role you will be responsible for coordinating, review and providing training on assigned functions.
Experience working with Medicaid, Medicare, and third-party insurance; knowledge of coding and billing is highly preferred.
The hours for this position are Monday-Friday 8:00am through 4:30pm. Eventually a hybrid schedule after initial training.
Acts as a lead worker within assigned functional area of the Billing Division.
Supports the Billing Supervisor by handling questions in the supervisor’s absence.
Providing training to other billing unit staff and supporting the completion of assigned tasks; maintains professional interaction with internal and external customers.
Reviews and monitors billing files and/or charges billed and takes necessary steps to identify and resolve issues.
Reports on issues or concerns related to assigned area.
Adheres to quality and productivity standards as assigned.
Analyzes external billing changes and requirements to ensure internal compliance.
Completes system and file audits; keeps up to date on changes made by payers which may impact the billing processes and payment cycles and compiles information to submit to supervisor.
Communicates updates and may be assigned to make necessary changes to payer files.
Utilizes multiple software systems and resources to research and execute work processes.
Reviews and recommends changes and updates to procedures and processes.
Performs billing and collections tasks as required.
Maintains confidentiality of privileged information and adheres to patient privacy laws.
Maintains required training, licensure and/or certification.
Demonstrates sensitivity and understanding of other ethnic groups and cultures.
Participates in emergency response activities as assigned; adheres to department guidelines for attendance and punctuality.
Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field; and three years of experience in healthcare billing, which included problem identification and resolution; experience in medical coding preferred: or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Attendance at on site HR new hire orientation in Wheaton is required.In this role you will working with Medicaid, Medicare, and third-party insurance; knowledge of coding and billing is highly preferred. computerized accounting and reporting systems; considerable knowledge of department policies and procedures; good knowledge of billing software and applications; good knowledge of project management techniques. Salary : $43,943 - $65,915
