Summary:

This position requires minimal supervision and is responsible for the maintenance of Winery grounds and gardens, Including landscaping and related tasks. The focus is on upholding the Winery's commitment to quality care, sustainable farming practices, and energy and resource conservation. All work is carried out in compliance with established saftey procedures.

Compensation:

$20.34 - $27.46/hour

Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

What you will do:

• Preforms plant landscaping and maintenance tasks
• Operates gas and electric powered tools
• Applies pesticides, fertilizers, and herbicides
• Maintains lawns, flowerbeds, trees, and sprinkler systems
• Maintains safe, clean, and organized work area
• Maintains equipment in safe working order and storm drains for clear drainage
• Maintains accurate records and engages in special projects as assigned

What you will need:

• High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 1 year experience landscaping, production, operations, or construction environment.
• Experienced in reading and comprehending simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
• Internal/external customer service experience.
• Skilled in writing simple correspondence.
• Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers.
• Candidates for this position must have a valid driver's license and maintain a safe driving record. Required to obtain a California driver's license or appropriate state driver's license within 30 days of hire.
• Required to climb ladders and stairs.
• Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
• Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

What will set you apart:

• High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 3 years of experience in landscaping, production, operations, or construction environment.
• Experience working in a team-oriented atmosphere.
• Knowledge of basic mechanical processes.

Physical Demands:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to the following: Exposure to dust, fumes, smoke, gases, or other irritating substances. Exposure to solvents or chemicals. Exposure to slippery walking surfaces. Exposure to high decibel noise. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. The employee is required to frequently stand and walk throughout work shift. The employee is occasionally required to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Required to climb ladders and stairs to access mezzanines located at extreme heights.

Work Envrioment:

• Work is 100% outside with weather of varying types. The temperature is subject to normal environmental conditions and will vary with the season. The employee is required to wear close-toed, non-skid work boots or shoes. Wet/slippery conditions vary and may include work in rain. Noise levels may vary and occasional situations where hearing protection is required. Environmental conditions may include work at heights and in confined spaces as needed
