EAC Network, a leading not-for-profit social service agency dedicated to helping over 80,000 people through 120 impactful programs across Long Island and NYC, is looking for a dedicated part time Facilitator to work remotely for our Abusive Partner Intervention Program (APIP).
Wage: $25 per hour
Schedule: 19 hours per week - TBD: Most likely Nights and Saturdays
Location: Remote - office located at: 175 Remsen Street in Brooklyn
Primary Purpose of Job:
The Facilitator is responsible for providing educational services to participants referred to the Abusive Partner Intervention Program. The Facilitator guides participants through a curriculum that focuses on encouraging participants to take responsibility for abusive acts and exploring the effects and impact of violence.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessment and orientation sessions for participants referred to the program following the program curriculum provided by EAC NETWORK.
- Schedule participants for sessions.
- Co-facilitate themed batterer intervention sessions utilizing control logs, assignments, and exercises.
- Maintain participant attendance.
- Conduct breathalyzer and or toxicology tests on participants when required.
- Distribute letters of attendance
- Attend trainings/meetings as scheduled.
- Perform all other relevant duties as determined by Supervision and EAC NETWORK Administration.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required:
- High School Diploma or educational equivalent required or Bachelors Degree in social services area preferred.
- Participation in qualified training in domestic violence and/or criminal justice or 100 hours of qualified internship training at an EAC site.
- Must be proficient in computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications, calendar, and email and/or database software necessary to perform work assignments.
- Must have knowledge of local criminal justice and treatment systems.
- Must have good communication skills, both oral and written.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) BIG PLUS/HIGLY PREFERRED!!
Salary : $25
