Job Description:
The driller's assistant accompanies the driller on well sites and does whatever is asked in order to complete the job; including but not limited to: welding casing, tripping in and out with drill steel, sealing the top hole, loading trailers with drill steel and/or casing utilizing a SkyTrak, setting up and tearing down the rig for mobilization, clearing ground for rig placement, and doing maintenance work. The driller's assistant can expect to work 45 hour day shift weeks and some weekends with overtime pay. Most, if not all work is done outside year round and in all weather conditions. This position is for long-term employment.
Requirements:
Class C driver's license with a good record.
Ability to lift 60 pounds.
Quick learner that reasonably remembers what's been taught.
Preferred:
Commercial driver's license with a good record.
Metal working skills.
Welding Experience.
Basic equipment operations.
Benefits:
Up to $18/hour based on experience.
After six months, simple IRA 3% matching plan and $500 work clothing/boot yearly allowance.
One paid week vacation after one year. Increases incrementally.
