Position Summary:
Assists in coordinating and scheduling housekeeping and laundry projects. Assists in providing supervision of work crews. Assists and inspects the hospital and clinics. Distribution of supplies and equipment.
Position Accountabilities:
1. Assists in the housekeeping and laundry departments, and in maintaining quality control and compliance with requirements.
2. Assists in planning, organizing, coordinating, and supervising housekeeping and laundry departments to maintain the environment in a sanitary, attractive, and orderly condition.
3. Establishes daily work schedules for special and routine assignments and inspect and evaluate completed work.
4. Provides instructions and guidance as needed.
5. Trains new employees by having them train with experienced workers. Train them withing the hospital and clinic as time allows.
6. Monitors workflow and makes changes as necessary to achieve objectives.
7. Develop and maintain job descriptions for the department.
8. Maintains required records, reports, and statistics as directed.
9. Assists in maintenance and care of equipment and supplies.
10. Fills out work order.
11. Maintains established hospital/department policies, procedures, objectives, QA, safety environmental, and infection control.
12. Keeps records on inspections of rooms, bio-boxes, and sharps containers.
13. Assist in ordering and maintain a sufficient supply of linen. Have it labeled, washed, and ready to go out on the floors.
14. Assists in making sure there is enough clean linen put back for three days in case of an emergency.
15. Works with nurses and other staff.
16. Assists in in-service meetings and other meetings.
17. Performs all other duties as directed.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: Sufficient previous experience in housekeeping and laundry. Knowledge of equipment and supplies.
Skills : Knowledge of housekeeping and laundry. Typing and record keeping.
Physical Demands: Extensive walking, standing, bending, lifting, and reaching.
Working Conditions: Subject to coming in contact with airborne diseases or other diseases. Possible needle sticks.
