Job Summary
We manage a vibrant commercial plaza home to over 20 thriving restaurants and retail businesses with over 200 employees. We are looking for a detail-oriented Human Resource Manager to support our daily HR duties. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting all HR functions, with a strong focus on payroll, compliance, employee relations, and multi-location coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Duties
- Oversee the recruitment process, including job postings, interviewing, and onboarding of new employees.
- Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes, benefits administration, and compliance with labor laws.
- Manage employee relations by addressing grievances and resolving conflicts in a timely manner.
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that comply with OSHA regulations and other legal requirements.
- Conduct training sessions on company policies, safety protocols, and professional development.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify staffing needs and develop talent acquisition strategies.
- Monitor employee performance management processes to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
- Manage projects related to HR initiatives, ensuring timely completion and adherence to best practices.
- Administer payroll and timekeeping using ADP and Toast systems.
- Manage state-related employment matters, including EDD claims and reporting.
- Support HR projects and maintain accurate employee records.
- Assist with multilingual communication as needed (Spanish or Mandarin preferred).
Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of HR experience.
- Proven experience in a Human Resources management role, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using HR software such as ADP and/or Toast for recruitment and data management.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and compliance standards is highly desirable.
- Excellent interviewing skills with the ability to assess candidates effectively.
- Experience in data collection and analysis to inform HR decisions is preferred.
- A proactive approach to talent acquisition and employee engagement strategies.
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Strong organizational and communication abilities.
- Spanish or Mandarin Chinese proficiency is a plus.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
